Through MGLPC -- and all those who support us, as members, donors, volunteers, lawmakers -- Massachusetts made history with one of the nation's first Gay Civil Rights laws, first Hate Crimes laws and toughest HIV confidentiality laws. We've beaten back anti-gay civil rights and adoption measures, and the ‘02 anti-gay marriage ballot initiative. And in ‘03, we sponsored the state's first civil marriage bill.

MGLPC Endorses in General Elections
MGLPC conducts a thorough, membership-driven process of assessing candidates for state elected offices. Incumbents are judged on their voting record. This session's key votes: the Constitutional Convention vote on the anti-gay marriage amendment, 1913 Repeal, MassHealth Equality and budget votes supporting our elders, youth, HIV/AIDS and victims of domestic violence.
Non-incumbent candidates respond in writing to our extensive Candidate Questionnaire on more than a dozen questions of critical importance to the LGBT community. Major topics include transgender civil rights, marriage equality and budget support for critical programs.

Finally, MGLPC's members vote on endorsements. It's an open and transparent community process. Click View MGLPC Endorsements
